
Indigenous Workplace Learning Circles (IWLC)
Facilitator Training
The IWLC Facilitator Training builds community and workplace capacity to deliver their own IWLC programs. This training walks participants through the IWLC curriculum and explores methodologies and tools that will help successfully deliver the IWLC program and support Indigenous learners.
IWLC program helps learners, people new to the workplace, and people returning to work. The program builds on a participant’s strengths and incorporates traditional culture and language with employment readiness training to build their confidence and workplace literacy skills.
Some of the topics covered in the facilitator training include:

How we use Skills for Success in everyday life

How to embed Skills for Success in activities to help learners at their literacy and readiness level

Literacy instructional techniques

Cultural facilitation strategies
-
How to adapt IWLC sessions for your community/organization/company


Intended Audience:
People working with Indigenous learners including community workers or employers who need support building workplace Skills for Success programs for their employees or future employees.

Required Resources:

There is a fee for this training.

Training sessions are offered online, access to a computer and internet is required.

Customized trainings are also available and can be conducted in person for groups up to 15 people. Price dependent on location and group size.

Expected Results:
Training participants will gain the skills they need to successfully deliver IWLC programming within their own communities. This includes how to integrate Indigenous adult learning principles into the workplace, how we use Skills for Success in everyday life, and how to improve employee relations and staff retention.
